Plisch won the IBC2011 Innovation Award in Amsterdam under the category of content delivery for the “single frequency networks project for HD with DVB-T2″ with their partners DNA, Ericsson and Teamcast.

The following three finalists have been nominated in the ‘Content Distribution’ category:

• Digital End-to-End. Delivery of movies and TV programmes to a large number of broadcast stations, head-ends, cinemas and web sites using technology from Accenture and AmberFin.
• Metro Ethernet Backbone. City-wide IP data exchange for the Brazilian broadcast station TV Globo using technologies from Cisco.
• Single Frequency Networks for HD television. Using a cellular approach, the Finnish broadcaster DNA deployed technologies from Plisch and TeamCast allowing rapid deployment and nation-wide broadcasting of DVB-T2.

French specialist Technology Investment Company, Innovacom invests in Plisch.

Plisch GmbH announces today that it has received investment funding of € 5m from the French specialist Technology Investment Company, Innovacom.
Mr. Heucke-Scheller, managing director of Plisch commented “this is a very exciting development for Plisch and we are delighted with the opportunities this now brings to the Company. Plisch provides customised liquid cooled DVB-T2 transmitter systems in 3+1 reserve configuration. These transmitters are equipped with redundant IP inputs and with our new precision GPS clock distribution unit PGC3000.

Up to the end of the year 2011, 60% of the Finnish population will be covered with DVB-T2. A further step is already planned to increase the coverage in the following years until 2014.
